Classy Margaux from this famous Bordeaux appellation (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). Medium ruby with fine legs. Attractive aromas of cassis and black cherry with hints of leather and sandalwood. Smooth and ripe with cassis fruit and mahogany tannins which give structure without being overpowering. Elegant and refined with appealing feminine style including balance and poise, plus a touch of pepper on the lingering finish. Drinking well now but has the potential to age for several more years.
Serve this wine with Slow-Braised Beef, ox-tail or beef cheeks. An excellent partner for Roast Lamb with garlic and rosemary. Try it with veal or suckling pig. Also tasty with peppered saucisson or cured beef such as pastrami or Biltong.
