Mature and complex Saint-Estèphe from the Bordeaux left bank (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). Medium garnet with elegant legs. Savoury aromas of coffee, mocha and leather mingle with prune and fig and a touch of cinnamon spice. Mature and complex showing signs of development with gamey flavours, savoury tannins and earthy notes. Full-bodied with endless complexity including spicy notes of frankincense and sandalwood finishing with great length. This mature Claret is perfect for drinking now and will continue to improve and develop over the next few years.
Excellent with Rib-Eye Steak or Entrecôte with Peppercorn Sauce. Nice paired with Creedy Carver Roast Duck or Confit Duck Legs. A good complement for Venison Casserole or Jugged Hare. Try it with spicy saucisson. It also marries well with hard cheese like Mimolette.
